New Blog

I haven't been around for awhile because my dad and I have been hard at work on my new website. It's going really well and offers a lot more options and ease of use for me and my customers. Anyway, just wanted to let you know that I've posted a couple of giveaways over there and will be doing a couple more in the next few days as I launch the site.

Also, I just can't resist showing you this.
Garrett wanted to get on that jet ski soooo bad.

Am I the only mother who breathes a sigh of relief when summer rolls around? My boys burst out of the house like a frozen river, finally thawed and rushing to the sea. There just isn't enough space in this house to contain their boundless energy.

Finally a sunny day!

We've finally had a sunny day so I could take a few photos of Diana's bag! Take the poll and tell me which one you prefer.

My First Blog Giveaway

I'm adding some new products to my website and I need to take some pictures of them with embroidery...so here I am, hosting my first giveaway! (Bear with me, I'm not quite sure how to do this)

The winner of the giveaway will receive one lime green tote bag embroidered with her first initial and name and embellished with pink and lime ribbon. I'll ship the tote to any address in the US.

Your tote will look somewhat similar to this one, but of course, different colors.

I think this would be fabulous for toting books to a class or study, or for the mom of a toddler who doesn't need a huge diaper bag anymore, but still needs a little something to throw a few diapers, wipes, a cup, and a change of clothes to take to the nursery. And of course, this would make a great gift.

So please enter by leaving a comment on this post. Get a second entry by linking to this post.

Please enter. I'd love to know who is reading my blog! I'll leave the contest open until midnight on Easter Sunday. And if you don't win, keep reading...I'll be having a lot more giveaways in the near future leading up to the grand opening of my re-designed website.

**Added Wed., April 15**
Thanks to all who entered and thanks for the wonderful comments. The contest closed Sunday at midnight, but check back, we'll be having more fun giveaways! As always, you can purchase bags at my website

A little scared

So. I seriously love blue and brown and orange. And, I am a true, blue fan of argyle. It's true. Now you know what to get me for Christmas.

So anyway, here are the fabrics I picked out for quilts for John and Garrett's bunk beds.

So, if you're lucky enough to have girls in your life to buy for, you may not have realized that there is a true lack of variety when it comes to picking out appropriate items for boys. Sure, there are some choices, but they don't compare to the millions of options available for girls.

So I was happy to find this collection called Katie Jump Rope with plenty of options in masculine prints. I want these quilts to last until these boys head off to college.

So today, they came in the mail. It's soooo exciting to get fabric in the mail. But now I am nervous. Are these going to make a good quilt? I never know how to pick fabrics for quilts. Your comments are welcome.

So anyway, you know what I'll be doing with all of my free time this week.

Sew, Sew, Sew.

Had A Good Day

I know this may come as a shock to some of you, but being a SAHM of 2 small children can sometimes feel frustrating. Even though I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunity to stay home with them, in the winter, it just seems that the time can drag on and everything you do (i.e. cleaning) gets un-done as soon as you finish it.

But today my mom and my Aunt Stephanie and cousin Anne-Merrin came for a visit and we had such a nice day. We had a little lunch, went down to check out our new river property, and then sat a chatted for a while.

It was Aunt Stephanie's birthday, so it was extra-nice that she took the time to come and visit.

Just wanted to say that it was a nice day.

Evie's Mermaid Outfit

My niece Evelyn recently celebrated her 4th birthday with a Mermaid Tea. A deathly flu prevented me from attending, but also gave me a little extra time to finish up her gift.

I'm a big fan of Heather Ross fabrics. So the mermaid theme gave me the perfect opportunity to purchase some of this line.

I think if I had it to do again, I would make the shirt a little bigger...It would probably last a little longer.

So here is what snow looks like on a field:

Here is what snow looks like on a field with the sun rising over it:

Sorry, there are no pictures of John playing in the snow. I was just too flu-ey to go out with him. But his Daddy did take him out and I heard rumors that they tied the sled to the 4-wheeler and had a fun time. If that makes you cringe in fear, don't worry. I'm sure it's just a rumor. Like I said, I didn't witness anything.

Kathryn's Ballet Dress

Finished the dress just in time for Kathryn's party. I was able to complete the prior project without purchasing any new materials. I've been looking for a use for this houndstooth for a while.
